It all begins with humility

I came across this blog that has the headlines Humility is more important than confidence. This can really be related with cheerleading as a mindset everyone should have no matter how good they are.

Confidence without skill is nothing. Skill without humility is stagnant. Skill with humility creates to confidence.

Its really a fact. If you are always just at the mats throwing your confidence around saying you can do this and that but you do not have the skill, nobody will give a rats ass of what you are saying/taunting cause you have no skill to prove your worth.

When you have become skillfull but you refuse to listen to others opinion (may they be better or not it does not matter) your skill will only be whatever it is you have or own. Always have the mentality to have an open mind to learn new skills and techniques to further improve yourself and prove to your team that you have the versatility to do whatever it takes your team requires you to. Sometimes even those who does not possess the skill you do might have a powerful observation of what you are doing wrong and its always good to listen to what mistakes you done and correct them or even more tell you what to do to improve it.

Listen first, think later. With an open mind to trainings, your skill will be limitless, all you need is persistence and time.

Skill with humilty creates Confidence

A start to a new life

Its been a while since I last bloged...never had the habit of penning down my thoughts anyway...its been about almost 3 weeks since I started my new career as a teacher after coming back from our most illustrious competition in Thailand ATCI 2009.

Being a teacher is no easy job. Its working hours might be some would say short as well school ends at about 1 then teachers are allowed to leave as early as 1330 hrs (DO BEAR IN MIND WE NEED TO REPORT BY 7 AM!) However that is the only official working hours for teachers and being in this field its not about working at the hours we are supposed to but more of working at the hours where we are needed most.

Yes the dents that im talking about.(Cause some of them like to call cher) Although I have not have my taste of having students approaching me after hours to help them with their work but I did have my fair experience of handling some rowdy kids while teaching maths. At one point of time I felt like I wanted to stop teaching already but then sometimes you got to see beyond their behaviour and know that they come to school for a reason. To be made use of Singapore more efficiently. hahahahahhaa...sad truth of life here...study to work..work to live...then ur life ends without a bang but at least you dont suffer I suppose.

Well im not giving up yet...Spirit can Drive...if you can give that amount of passion in Cheer, you should be able to give that kind of amount in whatever you do. This is the most important lesson learnt while picking up Cheerleading.

Spirit is My Heart!
